After his Friday workout with the Sacramento Kings, Brandon Jennings was feeling particularly frisky and in the mood to stir the NBA Draft Pot.

Jennings was asked what he thought of Ricky Rubio, the point guard from Spain whom many have declared to be the second coming of Pete Maravich.  He was quick to slap down such a comparison and asserted that Rubio is “all hype.”

“I think I’m a better player think he is, I can shoot the ball better than he can, you know the only time I have seen him do something is when he has a home run pass or something like that. I think the dude is just all hype. I can’t even front you know, I’m just going to be real with you guys.”

Jennings used his matchup with Rubio in the Euro League as evidence for his conclusion.

The majority of mock drafts are not in line with Jennings’ analysis. The general consensus is that Rubio will be taken in the top four and that Jennings will fall somewhere in the range of picks seven through fifteen.

Many experts attribute Jennings’ lower draft standing to his under-exposure and choice to sign with a European team, forgoing his NCAA eligibility. He hopes to change their minds in the next 12 days.

Sure to be interesting is the outspoken Compton, Ca. product’s upcoming workout in New York. His flair and borderline arrogance could make him a prime candidate and typical choice for a Knicks team in dire need of talent at the point.
